About DakshinaChitra:<\/strong> A non-profit, community service project of the Madras Craft Foundation for the promotion and preservation of the cultures of the diverse people in South India with emphasis on Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh<\/p>\n

Moto of this work :<\/strong> To inspire people to new ways of looking atSouth India’s cultural traditions and their connections to the present and to the future.<\/p>\n

What we can see it at DakshinaChitra ?<\/strong> We can see Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh house architecture. Again this will be categorized under region, religion, community, etc. Example Hindu House, Christian house, Muslim house, Merchants house, Agricultures house, Weaver\u2019s house, Potter\u2019s house, Basketweaver\u2019s mud house, etc. Yes offocurse we can see small art gallery and craft bazaar also.<\/p>\n

How much time required to see complete DakshinaChitra ? <\/strong>\u00a0It\u2019s required 2-4 hrs to visit complete place. But its depends on the people and how deeper you want to see the architecture.<\/p>\n

Advantage of visiting to DakshinaChitra Chennai ?<\/strong>\u00a01. At one place we can able to see complete South India house architecture. Its all exact houses and not just models. 2.\u00a0You can go with your family\/kids to spend half day under lot of very green environment with traditional houses<\/p>\n
